TIMESHARE (VACATION OWNERSHIP) look up translate image
This is an equity financing and marketing concept that allows participants to enjoy vacation accommodation a fixed period of time or for a shorter contracted period. As per the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), at a fraction of the whole ownership costs, the timeshare consumers make a one time purchase of furnished resort accommodations. They are also required to pay an annual maintenance fee.

The price of the accommodations vary depending upon a variety of factors like, location, size of the unit, season & resort amenities. The vacation accommodation is owned by the purchaser but only for the period of time the owner wants to use it. The best part about timesharing is that, the owner gets to use all the facilities of the vacation home without having to pay year-round costs. The prime idea behind timesharing was to provide people with an opportunity to purchase their future vacation at current prices.
